Minneapolis First Church of the Nazarene, was organized in April, 1921.
The first permanent building was on the corner of 18th street and 13th
Avenue. In 1951, the church was moved to the corner or 7th
Street and 12th Avenue. Eventually the church was relocated to its
present location in 1959. From its beginning, the pastors and people
have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirit for direction. This has been
rewarded by growth in grace and ministry. Best of all, God has
continued to bless His people for their faithfulness and dedication in
service. Through the years, the church has been blessed with many who
have gone out to take places of full time service for God. God is
still calling many today, and his people are responding.
Southwest Community Church is a neighborhood church with far
reaching effects. We have several families who live less than two miles
from the church. We also have quite a few families that travel 15 minutes
or more to get to church. No matter where in the Twin Cities you live, we
hope you'll stop by and visit us.
